Spopely rolls out Monopoly Go for independent chat, game camps relying on old players.

Spopely has launched a new, stand-alone version of Monopoly Go Chat on the global mobile side. Spopely indicated that the application was designed to provide players with the means to communicate and develop strategies with their friends and teammates. Users can have one-on-one chat or create a group of up to 20 friends. The application currently does not contain any in-sourcing or advertising.

Spopely claims that the introduction of independent chat applications means that more reliable transmission technology can be provided without crowding out resources from the core playing environment. The application was softly launched in France before its official release. Spopely recently crossed a $15 billion revenue milestone in its portfolio, 15 years after the company was established. The main driving force behind this growth is Monopoly Go, a game that surpassed $6 billion in player spending at record speed earlier this year.

In an interview with Joint Chief Executive Officer Spopely Javier Ferreira, who discussed the maturity of the hand-to-hand market, he said: “You must be agile and adaptable. Five to ten years ago, there was still a large influx of users and mobile phone games were discovered. At that time, many players tried to establish a long-term relationship with some of those games. The situation is now quite different. Now billions of players are playing these games with a very high level of participation. About 80% of our income comes from users who play our game for over a year.” He added: “The reality is that the demand for new games has decreased. But good games that capture users and make them feel `very special’ can achieve unparalleled success, even more powerful than any game 10 years ago.”
